OXFORD VIRTUAL ACADEMY

Oxford Virtual Academy takes the distance out of distance learning by working in partnership with families to provide rigorous academic preparation that is teacher mentored, parent directed and customized to meet the needs of students from all academic backgrounds. We strive to provide a customized learning experience that is tailored to the unique needs of each individual student. 

Oxford Virtual Academy currently has over 10 full-time employees and serves over 2,500 students in grades K-12. We are ranked by Niche as a top public online high school in the state of Michigan.

OUR HYBRID LEARNING PROGRAM

We have designed a program and school setting meant to enhance the educational experience for the student-athlete.

Public school diploma

Students enroll with Oxford Community School and graduating students will earn a diploma from Oxford Community Schools.

COURSE OFFERINGS

Courses are offered at any time, any place, any pace structure to provide the needed flexibility for our student-athletes to succeed.

NCAA Approved courses

Students and families will work with an OVA counselor to ensure course work meets NCAA requirements. Virtual schooling does not affect college acceptances.

On-site certified teachers

Students receive daily instruction with Michigan-certified teachers and mentors at the hockey arena.

IN-PERSON CLASSES

On-site teacher will provide one-to-one, small-group, and whole-group instruction.

ONLINE CLASSES

For courses where a certified teacher cannot be on-site, students will be assigned a certified teacher for the course that will meet with them online.

BALANCED CLASSES

Courses utilize a mixture of online content and textbooks with a balanced approach to screen-time.

TIME, LOCATION, & RESOURCES

Physical classroom space and schedule will be provided at the hockey arena. Technology, internet access, and tech support will be provided as needed. Public school services such as special education and counseling are available to students as needed.
